Insulated Glass Units (IGU) for Doors, Windows and Skylights

An IGU combines two or more panes in a sealed assembly. The suitable build-up depends on the aluminium profile, opening size, panel weight, safety requirement and the project’s thermal or acoustic objective.

What to confirm before selection

Frame and rebateConfirm which overall glass thickness the selected window, door or skylight profile can accept.
Pane selectionTempered, laminated and coated glass options must be matched to location, safety and project requirements.
Cavity and spacerCavity width, spacer and seal system are selected as part of the complete unit, not as a standalone upgrade.
Panel size and weightLarge sliding or opening panels require hardware and frame checks before a glass build-up is confirmed.
Site exposureOrientation, rain exposure, noise source and conditioned-space requirements should be reviewed together.

Final glass and frame selection remains subject to opening dimensions, profile compatibility, site exposure, structural and safety requirements, and the approved project specification.

Common questions

Can every EZZO frame use the same IGU?

No. Profile depth, glazing rebate, panel size and hardware capacity differ by system, so the glass build-up must be confirmed for the selected frame.

Does an IGU automatically solve heat and noise concerns?

Performance depends on the complete specification, including pane types, coatings, cavity, frame, seals, opening type and installation conditions.

What details are needed for a quotation?

Send opening dimensions, photos or drawings, room use, preferred opening type and any thermal, acoustic, privacy or safety priorities.
